I Swear I’ll Never Do It Again

I SWEAR I’LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN

VERSE ONE

I woke one morning and lay there wondering
Why I wasn’t in my bed
I clearly recalled driving home alone
But I went somewhere else instead
I soon realized thru bloodshot eyes
I was sleeping with my bosses wife
I gathered my clothes and then I drove
Right to the unemployment line

CHORUS

Well, I rarely drink only one or two
I drink one or two too much
Sometimes I have more than I should
And regret it when I wake up
I think I’ve had a little too much
When I don’t know where I am
It’s all in fun ‘til the sun comes up
And I swear I’ll never do it again

VERSE TWO

Now I drove down to that Juarez town
For a weekend from the daily grind
Tequila bound as the sun went down
A senorita sittin’ by my side
When I woke up, I couldn’t find my truck
I looked but it was all in vain
I thumbed my way from Mexico
Without a penny to my name

CHORUS

Well, I rarely drink only one or two
I drink one or two too much
Sometimes I have more than I should
And regret it when I wake up
I think I’ve had a little too much
When I don’t know where I am
It’s all in fun ‘til the sun comes up
And I swear I’ll never do it again

BRIDGE

Some folks say I need to straighten up
And change my wild and wooly ways
But somewhere between a few and too much
My good intentions go astray

CHORUS

Well, I rarely drink only one or two
I drink one or two too much
Sometimes I have more than I should
And regret it when I wake up
I think I’ve had a little too much
When I don’t know where I am
It’s all in fun ‘til the sun comes up
And I swear I’ll never do it again

TAG

Yeah, it’s all in fun until I wake up
And then I swear I’ll never do it again
And then…
Yeah, I do it all over again
